Cooking Steaks  on Friday Night!

February 14th - 16th, 2020

This event started it all for us and is held in conjunction with the annual Winter fest. Men's and coed teams square off in snow, mud, ice or whatever else mother nature throws at us. Sign up begins the first of January and fills up quick.

The  Johnnie  Trophy!

The Johnnie the single most important and fun trophy given out at our annual Winterfest and Snowball Tournament!

The trophy is dedicated in memory of Gary Cinglie, one of the founding members of our organization.  This traveling trophy is presented every year after all the winners of the softball tournament are recognized.  It is awarded to the team or group (does not have to be a softball team) who raises the most money for our organization.  The winners get to drink from the trophy that is filled with their favorite beverage of choice...usually beer!  The winners' team name and the amount they raised will be permanently engraved on the side of the wood base of the trophy.  The winning team gets to keep the trophy until next year's Winterfest, when they can try to win it again or it will be awarded to a new team.

This trophy has helped our organization collect over $50,000.00 in donations in just a few short years!  It is a great way to help us raise money for our sponsor families...sooo, get your team together and start fundraising!

February 14th - 16th, 2020

Our annual snowball tournament is dedicated in memory of Jamie Davis.  Jamie was a beautiful young girl who was battling a form of brain cancer.  In 1998, the Tailgaters Softball Team sponsored a softball tournament to help raise money for her family.  The tournament was a huge success!  We didn't know it then, but that tournament was the beginning of our organization.  Unfortunately, Jamie lost her battle to cancer 6 short months after our tournament.  In her memory we created THANKS, Inc in hopes of helping more families.

Tailgaters Helping Aid Needy Kids' Spirits, Inc (T.H.A.N.K.S., Inc) was formed in December of 2001.

We assist local children and their families who are battling life threatening or catastrophic illnesses.

We provide assistance with medical bills, equipment and everyday living expenses such as mortgage, vehicle, utilities, groceries and other expenses that seem to fall behind while the family cares for their sick child.  It is our goal by helping the family with these expenses that they will be able to concentrate solely on the child's health issues and not have the added stress and worries of wondering if their utilities will be shut off  or how they are going to pay all the added expenses coming in.

All the families we assist are local families from Monroe or surrounding communities.

All of our members are volunteers. We depend on the generosity of the community for donations and from the success of the events we host each year to be able to assist these families.

Please consider donating, participating in one of our events or volunteering!
